Cool Hard Rock

"I really like this band, Legend have a unique style that is freshly away from all the Nu-Metal and Death Metal crap that's out there at the moment. There is also nothing neo-classical in this which makes a change, just hard rock similar to Sabbath. I was interested to read on Legend's Website that Lars from Metalicca use to listen to them back in the Eighties. So all I can recommend is go out and buy it!"

"The tracks on this record are very catchy. My favourite has to be 'Eden Massacre', but they all have something to offer. It's also surprising that this band has manged to produce such a fine quality follow up album since their last work way back in the early 80's. It's almost as if they had never stopped playing. The NWOBHM movement with Legend is truely alive."

"This has been a bold step for the UK's "Legend". A reunion album nearly 20 years on, amidst a new audience and new standards. Having read the tales of how the album came about, and only two of the original band members names being mentioned, namely guitarist Pete Haworth and vocalist Mike Lezala, I was intrigued to hear what this record would deliver given the reputation of their early work. I was not disappointed.
As uncompromisingly promised, the sound is modern, the production solid and the use of occasional synthetic drums and sequencing apparent. Gone is the high band fuzz of their early recordings, yet at the same time it sounds timeless, as if it is natural third album. The songs are as heavy as hell but still retain their trademark gut wrenching emotion and melody that I just haven't heard sound this way before. Haworth's guitar is flawless and Lezala's vocals are perfectly unique. Of the eleven songs on the album it really is difficult to find a bad one. Yes there are a couple that don't hit the top mark, but overall they are all special, a rarity in this age of manufactured metal. The lyrics are as perceptive as 20 years ago, although I'm not convinced that such a sombre approach to content rests as easily these days as it did then. Standout tracks have to be "Eden Massacre" and "Maybe This Time", two songs which seem to bring everything that Legend represent together. But for me, the ultimate track has to be "Hiroshima 2003" which takes the original 4 minute classic from the first self-titled album and turns it into an 8 minute masterpiece."
