From the opening song "Empires" where she boldly proclaims - Bring me men! Men to match my mountains! - that's balls! That's awesome. Wonderful, cleverly written songs that uplift the mind as well as shake the booty. This is not some trite neo-soul. This is not Bjork-lite; this is not Kate Bush-esque. This is simply Lamya doing her thing. However I must admit that if Amel Larrieux and Dido had an unholy union Lamya would be their offspring." |
