"film score and jazz lovers"

"This album successfully blends jazz, big band, latin, country and soundtrack scores all into one amazing listening pleasure. The CD has "Classic" written all over it, with some of the best themes from scores composed over a 30 year period. Many selections are stirring, not just your everyday "elevator music", but some classy stuff.A stand out - COOL HAND LUKE (main title) (1967) based on the novel by Donn Pearce starring Paul Newman and George Kennedy (won an oscar for Best Supporting Actor), Schifrin captures the mood of the film with is score, another stand out - APPLE TURNOVER from "Rollercoaster" (1977) with George Segal, Richard Widmark, Timothy Bottoms, Henry Fonda, Susan Strasberg and Harry Guardino in this crazy story with this wonderful "Count Basie" sound written and arranged by Lalo Schifrin, even the ending has those famous cords Basie was known for, this is a real "gass".The entire album is more than just background music, but an upbeat fun listen for any film score or jazz lover.Total Time: 45:53 on 15 Tracks/ Hip-O Records - HIPD 40127 (1998)"
