Very very dark Requiem
Steven Yu | Sydney, Australia | 01/28/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I have listened to many requiems and own quite few requiem recordings; I have to say this one is the darkest requiem I have heard. The music is very close to the romantic era, with some twist of percussion and polyphonic.

The recording it self is great, the play of each instruments is very clean, some of the chorus might sound a little bit chaos, however I believe it is done on purpose for the composition.

Although it was called the Polish Requiem, only few verse are sung in Polish, the rest are still based on the Latin requiem mass lyrics, if you want a requiem based more on the polish language, I suggest the "Requiem for my Friend" by Polish film score compose, Zbigniew Preisner."
