Krokus Is Back And Better Than Ever!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Recorded during their 2003 tour, these Swiss rockers go thru a barrage of songs including 1979's "Heatstroke" (from the "Metal Rendez-Vous") to 2003's "I Want It All" (from "Rock The Block"). The band is in fine form with original members vocalist Marc Storace and lead guitarist Fernando Von Arb joing the newer members of the band, Dominque Favez on guitar, Tony Castell on bass and Patrick Aeby on drums. Storace's voice is strong and he sounds more like AC/DC's Bonn Scott than ever before. In the past Krokus has been critisized for being AC/DC copycats but I always felt the band had their own unique sound. The sound quality of these two discs is excellent, with Storace's vocals upfront and Von Arb's guitars in the right channel and full of energy. Other songs performed are "Mad World", "Flying Through The Night", "American Woman", "Stayed Awake All Night", "Rock N' Roll Tonight", "Screaming In The Night", "Rock City", "Backstreet Rock N' Roll", "Long Stick Goes Boom", "Eat The Rich" and "Easy Rocker" to name a few. Sure Storace and Von Arb are older but they haven't lost a bit of the spark that made them one of the eighties best European metal bands. There's also a booklet with color photos of the band in concert as well as a list of 2003 tour dates. Also being released domestically for the first time is Krokuses excellent cd "Rock The Block" which is due to be released in July 2004. Highly Recommended!"
This Album Goes Boom!

"I'm a big fan of live albums, but only if they're done right. Some live albums are great, and some are pretty poor, but "Fire And Gasoline" is one of the greats.

But what makes this one so good?

1. A veteran rock band that know how to write and play real rock songs.

2. A two disc set of songs from throughout their career, from their first album to their most recent and everything good in between.

3. Production. The balance of crowd/vocals/guitars is just right, the quality of sound is excellent, and there are no crowd fade-outs and fade-ins between songs. The album flows from one track to the next which creates the atmosphere and feeling of being at one concert from start to finish.

4. Energy, and lots of it. This album opens with a bullet and doesn't stop until it's finished. The band put all they've got into it and it shows. Marc Storace's voice is as good as ever, and the band just keep on rocking.

Following on from their fantastic comeback studio album "Rock The Block" Krokus have delivered a totally rocking greatest hits live compilation, which is far better than their previous live album "Alive And Screaming".

Who said rock and roll is dead? Krokus are back, and they prove it's alive and kicking!

"This is everything and more what the other reviewers already stated. Ive been blown away at how great these guys sound after all these years. Marc Storace shows his true vocal ability on this LIVE cd and he simply kicks a**! Im talking top notch rocking vocals and Fernando Van Arb sounds unbelievable the whole band just ROCKS!!One thing that really impressed is how this show is captured and how crowd participation plays a big role the band is firing on all eight here and they sound so polished and fresh you can tell the crowd is feeling it 100%. Two cds you should have from 2003 and 2004 Krokus Rock the Block and Fire & Gasoline Live. If you get ship wrecked on that deserted island make sure you have these CD'S you definately wont be dissapointed WAY TO GO KROKUS THE MUSIC WORLD TODAY NEEDS MORE TALENT LIKE THIS!!"
