Synopsis

Album Description
The band takes their name from expressionist painter Paul Klee; an apt moniker for a group whose dreamlike musical cascade of guitars and synthesizers showcases extraordinary beauty not unlike a Paul Klee masterwork. Klee explore simple yet affecting new wave melodies and, using their mother tongue, prove German to be both magical and romantic. Three songs re-recorded in English exclusively for this release. Featuring a duet with Nina Hagen.

CD Reviews

Deutsch ist reizvoll!
JRC | Eau Claire, WI | 10/29/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I studied German for three years of high school and two semesters in college. I have a great affinity and respect for the language, but I never thought it was a very sexy.... That is until now. It's very sexy when Suzie Kerstgens sings. Listen to My Secret (Track 5) and Two Questions (Track 6) to hear what I'm talking about. Wow! Suzie, Ich Liebe Dich. I stumbled onto this band from, of all places, Pontiac's website. The guitar intro from Gold (Track 4) has been used in some of their recent advertising. Gold is indeed what you will find."
What a find!!!

"Great listening music for anywhere, anytime. Suzie Kerstgens' voice hypnotizes with upbeat lyrics that spin effortlessly out of delightful rhythms, melodies and hooks. Deutschland uber alles!"
Unfullfilled potential

"Suzie's voice has pop sensibility with a reminiscent and melancholy touch, but the music itself is somewhat bland. If you want a better overall experience, I'd say just stick with Saint Etienne."
