Synopsis

Album Description
Thirty six years is a long time for a band to survive in today's cutthroat music jungle. The secret? Richard and Fred Young, along with cousins Anthony Kenney, Greg Martin and long time friend Doug Phelps, never set out to play music for a living. They were born to be together and they live to play music. Some of the Kentucky Headhunters albums have sold millions, others in the thousands. However, one thing remains the same....they are one of a kind, originals. The music on "Flying Under The Radar" reflects the broad musical landscape the Heads have developed over the years. Here's one from a band that still knows how to keep it...Flying Under The Radar!!

CD Reviews

Raw rock and roots music
Nigel | Melbourne, Australia | 07/31/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"A good introduction to the Headhunters - sort of a recent 'best of'. Great mix of tracks. A band who has remained true to their roots unlike Skynyrd who have gone one dimensional. Hard to classify this band - roots, rock, country, blues, you name it. Have a listen to their 'Soul' CD. Whilst they may not have the chart success they originally enjoyed, musically they just get better and better. Quality music that grows on the listener."
What a great album!

"I saw these guys live last summer and they were great! This new stuff is even better than the old tracks. They've gotten better with age."
