CD Reviews

Cheap Money-maker

"I got Greatest Hits II when it came out originally, and it's a good collection to have. The original 15 tracks are worth purchasing the album for.

Then, less than six months later, the label decides to pull a cheap-money making tactic and re-release the album with two new songs. To boot, the one released to radio, "Ain't Back Yet" is hardly worth the price of downloading from Amazon, let alone RE-BUYING a collection solely to get the song.

Face it, the re-issue is a cheap money-making tactic. The label could have easily waited for Chesney's next new album and put it there, but decided differently. If you must have the two new songs, download them for $0.99 apiece. Don't re-purchase the entire collection."
~great buy if you didn't get the original release~

"This is the re-release of Kenny Chesney's Greatest Hits II -- with two new songs added. Bottom line? It's a great buy if you don't already have the original release of Kenny's Greatest Hits II. If you did buy the the original album when it was first released, don't worry about it...I would recommend just downloading the two new songs if you enjoy them.

The two newly added songs on here are "Ain't Back Yet" and "This Is Our Moment". Both of them are solid upbeat tunes, which will make for nice summer songs. The other 15 songs on here are all awesome, and classic Kenny...with "Out Last Night" being the only other new single which is not featured on another album.

The whole album is an amazing collection of huge hits, and I highly recommend it -- only if you didn't get a chance to buy the original release. The CD starts off with upbeat smash hits like "Young", and "Summertime". Towards the end are classic singles like "There Goes My Life", "I Go Back", and "The Good Stuff". Scattered in between are songs that really give the album a nice & relaxed island feel, such as "Be As You Are", "Down The Road", and the closing song - "I'm Alive". One downside is that there were a few huge hits which were not included on the CD...such as "Don't Blink".

Overall this is a nice way to complete your collection - and a great buy if you're a rather new fan of Kenny. (14 of the 15 radio singles on here have reached either #1 or #2 on the billboard charts) Everything that's on the album is awesome, and there is a little something for everyone!"
Total rip-off

"Very disappointed to see that Sony Music have re-issued this CD that was released last year. Many people in the USA bought the early version only to get ripped off within a year. Too many people are being conned by record labels. Many of them are releasing albums and within a year add one or a few more tracks and put them out again. Examples include Taylor Swift (UK Fearless release wasn't even country), Blake Shelton and Katherine Jenkins.

Don't buy it. It disheartens me to write this referring to a Kenny Chesney release, but something has to be said."
