Overlooked music

"Kennedy-Rose were a duo of song writers and singers that made two albums before breaking up. This is the second one and is one of those special recordings that just got lost due to not really fitting into any category and being on a label(IRS)that was not promoting their product much (and was mostly considered an alternative type label.)This music is more in the progressive country/pop/rock genre and both of these women sing beautlfully together. Their harmonies soar and the production supports the music and the singing. One of the songs, "Safe In The Arms of Love" was covered by a country singer (unsure which one) but the original here is awesome. I get energized listening to it and love singing this stuff. It if joyous music.
Most of the songs deal with self-awareness and relationships. "Walls" is about the different walls we all build to protect ourselves. "Real World" is about trying to understand another persons perception without giving up yours or being rejected just because there is a disagreement ('Don't make me the enemy, where did we cross the line"). Some of the songs also include elements of Native American culture, one of the women seems to have some family connection here she shares in this music. Another song, "Without Your Love" was co-written by David Lanz and he plays piano on it - a beautiful track (He used this song as aninstrumental called "Miranda" on his own recordings).
The instrumental play on the backing tracks is great - there is not one bad note on the whole disc.BUY THIS - it is a missed treasure and has been out of print for a couple of years and will soon not be available any more. Don't miss music that can make a difference in your life."
Excellent neglected work

"Kennedy Rose only made two albums, which is a stone bummer. Their music falls in the progressive country/pop area. Imaginative instrumentation, beautiful vocal blending, and soaring harmonies make for very satisfying listening. I am astounded that their albums have been out of print, since it's hard to imagine that people would not like them. This album is slightly less of a revelation than "Hai Ku", their first, but worth buying if the only songs you got were "Safe in the Arms of Love" and "Walls.""
