"There is another review written in Spanish that I can read & understand the basics. So here is a review written in English. Don't show this to your English teacher. Keith Jarrett has an interesting career that it would take too long to write so here are some basics: He did play with Miles Davis with electrical keyboards but with his own work he devotes himself mostly with acoustic keyboards. He is mostly known for his solo piano improvs, jazz trios or larger, later standard classical music from Bach to Shostakvich, but this CD "In The Light" is one of his earlier attempts of writing modern classical music. Most of the titles give away the main idea: "Fughata For Harpsichord", "Brass Quintet", "String Quartet", & "Short Pieces For Guitar & Strings" while others like "Metamorhosis" for solo flute & strings, "A Pagan Hymn" for solo piano via Keith Jarrett, "Crystal Moment" for 4 celli & 2 trombones, & "In The Cave, In The Light" (sounds rather Platonic) for piano, gong, percussion with strings. Most of the pieces are somewhat tonal but on the path to atonal. Keith Jarrett wrote an interesting intro about how he wrote these sets of music over a period of 6 years & to not hold him to any style, but listen to digest. I am glad that he wrote this for it explains many things. This CD will give you another element of Keith Jarrett but maybe not for the new comer to his standard jazz or classical music.
