Synopsis

Product Description
2009 two CD set, a collection of tracks from the Disco phenomenon led by Harry Casey. In their own understated way KC & The Sunshine Band were trailblazers with a multi-racial line-up. Like many other southern setups (most notably at Stax whose black and white musicians also freely recorded together despite the political climate at that time) it was a perfect marriage between the musicians, the gritty gut-bucket funk of the band mixed with Harry Casey's simple, but heartfelt lyrics lending it a pop-sheen lacking in comparable bands of the era. Featuring all the band's biggest hits plus great album tracks and seldom heard nuggets, this double disc compilation is the perfect introduction to a band that was worth far more than it's weight in hit singles. 41 tracks including 'That's The Way (I Like It)', 'Keep It Comin' Love', 'Please Don't Go', 'I'm Your Boogie Man', '(Shake Shake Shake) Shake Your Booty'. and many more. Stateside.

CD Reviews

KC and the Sunshine band - The First five TK albums
Long Distance Voyager | Hong Kong, China | 06/22/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"EMI has complied five KC and the Sunshine Band's TK albums (excluding the instrumental album "The sound of the Sunshine")on this double disc compilation. All the songs are full length album version, THAT'S THE WAY WE LOVE THEM.

These albums "Do it good", "KC and the Sunshine Band", "Part 3", "Who do ya love" and "Do you wanna go party" spanned the length of KC and the Sunshine Band's recording from 1974 to 1979, from the catchy "Queen of clubs", disco classic "That's the way (I like it)","Get down tonight" , "I'm your boggie man" and "Shake your booty" etc, up to the final No.1 hit "Please don't go", showcasing the rise and fall of Disco music.

I have compared the tracks of "Part 3" album on this CD to the Rhino released of "Part 3 ... and more", the sound is greatly improved.

Need not to say, this one is a big bargain as it only cost two regular CDs' price.

Highly Recommended."
