CD ReviewsChris Hogwood does it again! Michael Iscenko | NY | 08/14/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Chris Hogwood does it again with the 10th installment of Haydn's symphonies. This volume is made up of symphonies from 1779-1781 that originated as or were connected to theatrical works. I was suprised to hear several well know overtures in symphonic guise. The recording is exceptionally crisp and clear with every detail of the orchestra able to be heard. Mr. Hogwood observes all repeats in these works and with the beauty of this recording one is truly greatful. I highly recommend this recording and I anxiously await the release of volume 11. I am puzzled, though, as to why volume 9 is not available in the US."
