A gem from south of the border

"The best performance of the third I have ever come across. Prats, a Russian-trained Cuban, does not appear to qualify for 'star treatment' but he is one of very few who can give us the original score of the third, described by a famous reviewer as "fiendishly difficult." Batiz' band accompanies to perfection.

A true sleeper, this Cuban - Mexican interpretation of a great piano concerto sings of the universality of great music."
