Synopsis

Album Description
The fourth and sixth of Johnny Tillotson's seven MGM albums, issued on CD for the first time ever and mastered directly from Johnny's own original mastertapes. Collectively, these two albums show that Johnny was more than capable of maintaining a career in the face of the rise of Beatlemania. Mostly recorded in Nashville and New York and featuring songs by writers of the calibre of Paul Evans, P.F. Sloan, Wayne Carson Thomspon and Howard Greenfield & Jack Keller, this adds up to a lot of classy mid 60s American pop

CD Reviews

Rated 5-Stars Only For The Voice
W. F. Schwentner | Woodbridge Virginia USA | 12/01/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Johnny was the very first "star" I ever met back in '58 pluggging his first record. His biggest thrill was having the Jordanaires backing him (Elvis wasw in the Army). This particular CD features two LP's that went nowhere, but it certainly is no fault of Johnny's. He still had the great voice and versaltility. The best cut is "I Never Loved You Anyway" which was the only single released and is the sole reason I bought it. Glad Johnny's still going strong...I hope to meet him again someday."
I Love Johnny's singing

"I think Johnny Tillotson is in a league of his own. His music touches my soul. He has a one of a kind voice. Thank God he is still performing. They don't make music like he sings anymore. Definately a treasured CD."
