Don't Be Fooled!

(1 out of 5 stars)

"This is neither the John McLaughlin of the fiery, transcendent Mahavishnu Orchestra fame or later fusion incarnations, NOR the bombastic TV talk show host known for roaring madly at guests and cutting people off (though he might make an amusing baby-calming CD). It is, in fact, a guy named John McLaughlin who is a producer of some sort and who must have recently become a father when he decided to make this CD. As a baby-calming CD, it's "OK," but there are much better ones available, and frankly this particular John McLaughlin has an annoying voice and can't seem to play the guitar to save his life. My two-month old son simply stuck out his tongue upon hearing this music---perhaps dissapointed (like his daddy) that he wasn't being transported by the otherworldly guitar playing of the much better known British John McLaughlin. Amazon should really listen to music they advertise, before making assumptions!"
