CD Reviews

Co-op

"This is the essence of Joe Morris music. The guitar is in the hands of a master and I, for one, will never look at that instrument in the same way again. In fact, I had avoided recordings with guitars because I was all guitared out. Way too many guitars everywhere. That changed with this guy.

This recording is made better by the presence of sympathetic musicians on acoustic bass and drums. They are clearly involved with all the intricacies of sound and motion in Joe's music...and there is a pulse, direct or implied, that propells the music forward. These guys are the perfect dynamic for this trio and they play flawlessly.

Tickling the neurons is the best way to describe Joe's guitar playing. Like rain drops rapidly and rythmically hitting a wind harp...precise and fine...unique, refined, and always interesting.

I've played the recording dozens of times and it never fails to thrill and amaze. My favourite Joe Morris recording is "Prophet Moon" with Rob Brown and Whit Dickey, also on the RITI label. After buying "Age of Everything", you should look for that one....it's a killer"
Driving madness...

"If you're familiar with Joe Morris, than you can expect this to be a little more focused and driving than some other recordings. Don't worry though, this is still the typical Joe Morris madness that we know and love. I really like the bass and drums, I think these are some guys that Morris hasn't recorded with before. This cd is limited to 3000 I think, after that it will be out of print forever I suppose. Buy it..."
