"The only good mixes that are just OK for me are the: Craig C. Mix and Chus & Ceballos Mix. Overall a very disappointing release. This is certainly not her best song...

Tracks:

1) ROCAsound Radio Edit (4:32)

2) ROCAsound Mix (7:26)

3) Chus & Ceballos Mix (9:50)

4) Craig C. Mix (8:25)

5) 'Baby Baby' - DJ Tool (0:37)

6) Chris Joss Vocal Mix (5:42)

7) Chris Joss Stripped Vocal Mix (4:46)

8) Levon Vincent Mix (6:43)

9) Good & Evil Mix (4:54)

10) 'I Needed You' - DJ Tool (0:47)

11) Heinrich Z. Mix (Ultimix Edit) (5:53)

Not really a good buy."

"Don't hesitate! This is worth every little $! Jam-packed with top class remixes! "New Love" - remade, resung, remixed! It's about time too. It's always a pleasure to hear a new Jody Watley record but this is special. The track itself sounds as fresh as it did when I first heard it on the US top 40 countdown way back in the 80s!

Some of the mixes here hit but others miss - though I'm sure they work for other people. My favourite is the mix by upcoming talent Chus & Ceballos. (Check out their fab work on Madonna's "Hung Up" and Michael Gray's "Weekend"!) Here, they work up a dirty bassline over a tribal-ish beat, lots of percussion and some fab synth touches -and make full use of Jody's clean, sexy vocal. I love the "my love ... was true" bit at the 6 minute mark - building up to the final throwdown. Dirty! Sexy! Ah - I'd love to hear this in a club!

The main mix - the ROCAsound mix - is also fabulous! An electronica extravaganza with chunky house beats and a squiggly dirty synth! Go to iTunes or track down a promo for the brilliant Jody Watley vs. Alison Limerick mix - a super cool mash-up with fat beats, funky guitars and an oh-so- irresistible piano breakdown at the 4 minute mark!

No wonder this track hit the coveted No.1 spot on the US Billboard club chart. It's a dance fan's dream. It's about time Jody showed those other so-called Diva's what she's made of! Who needs a big name remix anyway! Claps for Jody for going it on her own -with integrity, style and a great attitude.

My love ... is true!

Great Remixes, Vocals on Point

""Looking For A New Love 2005: The Remixes" is a CD single which features new remixes with new vocals of Jody Watley's most recognizable hit single "Looking For A New Love." Last summer one of the remixes hit #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart. My favorite remix is the ROCAsound Mix. This remix really gets me going when I am at the gym working it out. This is a real nice set and you get your money's worth, a ton of remixes rather than just 1 or 2, for a great price. It's a great teaser--Jody has a new album coming out later this year named The Makeover--I read this on her official website jodywatley.net. This is a great remix collection."
