The CD has its origins in Molaskey?s sold-out engagement at New York?s famed Algonquin Hotel in June of 2006, of which The New York Times raved, "She seamlessly carries off a tricky balance between fluid jazz singing and acting. This balancing act goes beyond juggling swing and theatrical savvy. It is embodied in her voice. Even worse, there is a huge dud: combining the Waters of March with The Circle Game might have looked good on paper but is a major train wreck - I can't believe it got on the album. From now on, I will not be automatically buying a Molaskey album without checking it out very carefully."
