Excellent Introduction To Jennifer Rush

(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you don't own any of Jennifer's music from the 90's this is a great place to start, esp. considering most of the albums are imports that can be a little pricey! This is a collection of songs from her EMI Electrola albums "Jennifer Rush" (there is also an album from the 80's titled "Jennifer Rush"), "Out Of My Hands" and "Credo". This album contains all of the singles (hard to find radio versions) as well as several other songs from those albums. Jennifer has always had an amazing voice, but like any artist, her voice and her sound changed over the years. Her voice just continues to mature and gain depth and she knows how to deliver a song. You will hear a different Jennifer in these recordings vs. any early work from the 80's. Although she is American and lives in NYC, Jenny is very popular in Europe and especially in German speaking countries. Her voice can be slightly operatic at times and is totally unique (which I love) but I guess that doesn't always totally fit in with "American" radio. I love the fact that her music (the range is shown on this CD) moves from dance-pop, to power ballads, to rock with heavy guitar all effortlessly even though you don't always hear a voice such as hers do those types of music. She has also recorded a bit in Spanish for releases in Spain and this compilation also includes the Spanish language version of the single "Credo""
