"Normally, music from virtuoso players tends to be centered around the bandleader's instrument, both the compositions and the arrangements. But in this CD, Berlin's playing is very enjoyable as he is a melodic player who actually plays interesting music,unlike many (also incredible) musicians who, when it's time to solo, fire all their cannons with all the chops they've got. Not the case here. The guy has the chops alright, but they serve the music well, and the compositions are very good. I particularly enjoy the first three tracks. Highly recommended."
