"This CD contains all important works for chorus and orchestra (except Kullervo Symphony). Especially, the performance of Finlandia is excellent.There are not too known works, including "Sandels". Even so, this work won a prize from a Competiton for Composers. I think, this is the first recording of this work (with Song of Athenians and Academic march)."Song of Athenians" written for boys choir, male choir, brass and percussion. This is a short work and contains some unusual instrumants, including: alto horn, tenor horn, bariton horn, bass tuba in F etc...And, there is an interesting version of one of the most famous work of composer: "Finlandia, Op. 26 with Male Choir". The chorus are very majestic. The Laulun Ystavat Male Chorus is very good in this work.The quality of sound is excellent. This CD contains librettos of all works (in original and English).This is essential recording and highly recommended."
