CD Reviews

A must buy for YGO fans.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Duel Vocal Best contains ALL of the original opening and ending themes to the anime series Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters, as well as the theme from the Japanese version of the 2004 movie, in their full-length glory. Although there's no Kawita Sekabi(the theme from the original 1998 TV series) it's a pretty good buy. The songs themselves have a real J-pop feeling. From CLOUD's Voice(which US fans would most be familiar with since it's on the uncut DVDs that have come out), to the excellent Overlap by Kimeru there is a real fun collection of action-packed, fast-paced themes which really reflect the nature of the original anime. The ending themes are a bit slower, but that in themselves reflect on the friendship nature of the 200+ episode series, my favorites being Masami Okui's Ano Hi No Gogo and Yuichi Ikusawa's Eyes, which wonderfully represents the Memory World arc, from start to finish, especially the show's farewell. Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Vocal Best is an excellent CD from start to finish, and something that fans of the series should truly add to their collection."
A Must Have For Any Yu-Gi-Oh Fan

"Yu-Gi-oh Duel Vocals Best features the theme songs from Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters (seasons 2-6) exclusively from Japan. The theme songs may be in Japanese, but anyone can automatically become hooked as they listen to the catchy rhythems and lyrics. The CD also comes with lyrics written in Japanese as well as some very interesting collectors screenshots from each of the openings and closings on the Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh episodes. The price may be high, but Amazon.com is the only site where I have seen this CD, and it is definitly a worthy investment!"
