Synopsis

Album Description
"Like Neil Young and Beck joining Jane's Addiction or Fountains of Wayne." -- MOJO This Sacramento four-piece, which treads roots-rock and experimental pop à la Grandaddy or Chuck Prophet, is best known for its ripping live sets and audience of faithful followers. This outing is co-produced by Tape Op magazine founder John Bacciagalupi, and his influence is noted in the odd and wistful instrumentation that defies any sort of "Americana" tag.

CD Reviews

A few good songs and some pap.

"I'm a big fan of these guys and this album wasn't the best experience. It looks like it's supposed to be a double album, but really it isn't. You get one disk with "Disc One" tracks, "Disc Two" is an iTunes only feature. You have to have the disc in a computer to unlock those tracks in iTunes. This is completely counter to the image of the band and my experience with their music. I only bought this thinking there was more bang for the buck; had I known what was up, I would have bought another Jackpot album. With this, I got only a handful of good tunes. Not one of their best even beyond the technical B.S. Get "Weightless" instead."
