Album Description
Not just 2 of Jackie's 10 inch Capitol LPs from the early '50s, but 6 non-LP singles and 3 unreleased tracks for a total of 22 rare tunes! You couldn't ask for a more collectible survey of his early Capitol work-'Lover's Rhapsody', released in 1953, began Jackie's string of romantic concept albums with such cuts as 'Desire, Flirtation, Temptation, Enchantment', and 'Tenderly', while 1954's 'And Awaaay We Go' offered the other side of Jackie, featuring such comic tracks as 'Hy'a Mr. Dennehy', 'You're a Nice Man', 'And Away We Go!', 'Here's Charlie', 'One of These Days-Pow!', 'The Poor Soul', 'You're a Dan-Dan-Dandy', and 'Reginald Van Gleason III'. The rest of this collection you simply will not find anywhere-the singles 'White House Serenade, Melancholy Serenade, You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me, Peg o' My Heart, The President's Lady', and 'Terry's Theme from 'Limelight',

"I had the first 33 1/3 album ever--Music for Lovers Only. I played it until it was worn out. A few years later I bought Lover's Rhapsody. Somewhere along the way I lost the album and searched all over to find a copy. So I'm thrilled to find this music again. It brings back so many memories. Gleason's music is absolutely unique. Thank you so much for releasing this CD!"
