The Difficulty Of Overcoming A Sterotype

"Ok, I may lose all credibility here but I have to say that I love this CD. Jack Wagner's `Don't Give Up Your Day Job'. Released in '87 before his 'The Bold and the Beautiful' days when he was still co-starring in the other popular television soap opera `General Hospital.' This was his third album and having already gained some notoriety with his hit `All I Need' I think he was hoping that this would be his breakthrough album into a full-time musical career.

I'm certain Jack knew the odds were against him and realized he was still pretty much considered to be one of those "pretty faces" trying to play at being a pop star. He was also quite aware of the difficulty of making the jump from the television screen to the live stage of the musician and keep his sense of humor over the whole endeavor by making fun of himself in the title of this album by reminding himself not to give up his day job. I hope that display of humor wasn't just false bravado because things simply didn't work out as planned.

The lack of success with this album was unfortunate because in my opinion Jack was the exception to the rule. Though I have never heard a single song from this album ever played on the radio I consider this a marvelous collection that my wife and I never tire of listening to. My 20 year old daughter grew up listening to this music along with us and though she might be hesitant to admit it in public she's crazy about it too!

If you're in the mood for something upbeat, breezy and romantic you should really take a chance on this one, you might be surprised!"

"This is Jack Wagner's third cd and if you ever seen him on General Hospital or on Santa Barbara then you already know how great he is as an actor and singer and i just love the song weatherman says.
