Synopsis

Album Description
Welcome to the Playlist series. We've fished through hundreds of tracks to cherry pick the perfect playlists. Not just the hits, but...the life-changing songs. The out-of-print tracks. The fan favorites everyone loves. The songs that make the artists who they are. You'll no doubt enjoy the sound of the beautifully remastered songs on this CD, unlike the compromised sound of an MP3 file.

You might also like the fact that the packages are environmentally-friendly (no plastic, 100% recycled paper). But we think the thing you'll appreciate most about this Playlist is that even though you didn't make it, you might wish you did. This package has been created with the environment in mind. All of the paperboard is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. Of course, we would prefer that you not throw this package or CD away. We would prefer that you keep it in your collection to enjoy for many years to come! Full liner notes, photos, and more included as a PDF file on this CD. Enjoy!

CD Reviews

Not a real Indigo Girls CD
Bruce I. Kinley | Los Angeles, CA | 02/18/2009
(1 out of 5 stars)

"This is a cheap attempt by the Indigo Girls' former record company to make some cash. This does not represent the best of IG, nor is it even a good beginner's collection. If you are looking at this product, check out "Retrospective" or "4.5" or even "1200 Curfews." Or go on iTunes and handpick your song collection. This collection is not put out by Amy or Emily, so it is not approved by the Indigo Girls."
DO NOT BUY
Andrea J. Yank | Alexandria, VA | 01/28/2009
(1 out of 5 stars)

"Based on my very limited experience with Playlist, DO NOT PURCHASE this CD. It is awful and does NOT represent the best of Indigo Girls as anyone who is familiar with their musical collection will testify. If "Playlist" is a new product/phenomenon, based on my personal extensive knowledge of the artists and my experience with this single CD, I would NOT purchase anything Playlist produces."
OK, just too narrow
J. Kipp | Chicago, IL | 03/04/2009
(3 out of 5 stars)

"OK, I will admit I was disappointed as a seasoned fan to see this rather meager selection. But I cannot give any Indigo Girls CD less than 3 stars - these ladies are just too talented and anyone glossing over the rating without moving to the bottom of the page to read the explanation might mistakenly think poorly of their music. Besides, the selection is not bad except for the last track, which although has been played at numerous concerts, is not even an Indigo Girls song but a cover of the Gladys Knight and the Pips Grammy-winning original. Amy and Emily are such prolific and consistently creative songwriters that it is hard to imagine the last track of a "best of" CD not being Indigo material. Other important songs under the Epic label were left out -- Land of Canaan, Ghost, Let It Be Me, Mystery, The Wood Song, Gone Again, and many, many more. Their more electric rock that was very innovative in terms of harmony and melody was also left out: Trouble, Go, Shed Your Skin, Tether, to name a few. But if this CD gives the newbie the urge to migrate to their other albums (honestly, unlike many artists, every song on their albums are worth hearing) then this CD will have achieved its purpose. Definitely, though, Retrospective is a better starting choice. Better yet, see them live. Amazingly, after more than 20 years, they are still going strong."
