A Great New Dance Song!
Clarissa | Ontario, California | 02/03/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Although the radio has been playing this song to death it's a nice, refreshing change of pace. It's unlike anything else being heard right now. InGrid is an emerging French singer and "You Promised Me" is a very catchy dance song that is probably going to be the club hit of 2004. Like Kylie Minogue her vocal abilities are limited but, IMO, that's not the most important factor to becoming a successful artist. Sex sells, yes, but if you've got a hypnotic voice that's filled with the type of energy that can spellbound and get the crowd moving than all is well. Besides, wailing divas often cause me to grate my teeth, and at least she doesn't sound like a breathy chipmunk (ie, Britney Spears). The remixes aren't much to rave about and they frankly could have been a hell of a lot better but I suggest buying this single simply because her debut album, 'Rendezvous', doesn't hit shelves until April 6th and this infectious tune is definitely worth having...NOW! Track listing:
1. Roc Project's Mix Show Radio (3.30)
2. Johnny Budz Short Remix (3.40)
3. Original Radio Edit (3.39)
4. Roc & Cato's Teqhouse Dub Mix (9.13)"
Dance with latin feel !

"Once you give this a listen, you'll want throw a party! This song is one of the best dance songs to come out in years. It sounds like latin dance music and tango because of its accordion arrangements . It gives a club vibe and surely gets most people to dance. Soon you'll , (if you haven't already) hear it at the clubs, although I heard it on L.A.'s Kdl 103.1 party station. The additional remixes, besides the extended original version are a bit boring, especially the dub version. If you can download from a pay service, then you won't have to deal with these additional unecessary tracks. All that is needed is for people to know who sings it in order to buy it. If you are reading this review, that means that you are aware of this marvelous production. Enjoy!"
Excellent music if you like variety

"I finally found out what the name was to this song just a week ago and decided to buy it ASAP. I heard this song when I was in Europe not too long ago and wanted to find it but could not till just recently. If you like trance or club music you will probably like this song. It is a good song to dance to as well. And if you like this song I suggest you try another European trance group called Groove Coverage. They just put out a club remix of the song Poison so I hope whoever likes Ingrid will try this as well."
