Finally! a male jazz vocalist with soul and technique

"I am a jazz DJ who has a list of about 20 favorite female jazz vocalists, but could not find male vocalists who turned me on. If your tastes lean towards the Mel Torme, Mark Murphy types, you will really like this guy. He is clearly a jazz singer, yet has so much soul. I love his ability to re-arrange a familiar song into something fantastically new...ie: Alone Again Naturally. His phrasing is great, his voice has that element of roughness that i love in a man. i am so sick of the pretty boy sinatra-clones. His voice is like a horn. The backup musicians on this CD are also top-notch. I could go on and on. I am so happy to have found a man that puts his vulnerability into his singing..."
