Synopsis

Album Description
Minneapolis' The Honeydogs return to the airwaves, stages and listening rooms, with a new collection of songs that are immediately hummable and infinitely thought-provoking. Filled with unexpected musical twists and turns, all 14 songs were recorded in a marathon 5 day session overseen by producer John Fields, creating simultaneously, their most adventurous and most accessible release to date. The Amygdala (a-'mig-da-la) is a small almond shaped part of the brain that controls emotions, specifically fear. On Amygdala songwriter Adam Levy explores the dark recesses of mental illness, sexual obsession and addiction. Amygdala is the follow up to 2003's critically acclaimed 10,000 Years.

CD Reviews

No letdown with this album!
K. Kroening | MN | 12/23/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"i LOVED "10,000 Years" and didnt know how the 'Dogs could get much better. they've done just as well with Amygdala. especially "Too Close to the Sun", "Truth Serum", "The Firing Squad Reloads", and "Elan Vital".

also, see these guys live if you're near the Twin Cities. i've seen them 6-7 times, they're great!"
No suprises, which is good

"Terrific songwriting, as usual. Confused by B.B. Grunt review. Dude, go back and listen to "Here's Luck" and "10,000..." - if you like the new one, there's no reason you wouldn't like those records, too. Give 'em another chance. They're very much in the same ballpark as this one. As usual, these guys come through with the melodies, and they still have that nice Beatles thing running through their veins."
Outstanding

"Their previous effort 10,000 years was the 2004 CD of the year in my opinion. The Honeydogs craft another amazing CD and I hope they continue to do so for a long time.

Don't miss this one!!!"
