Smooth Jazz Piano in The Style of Bob James
FDb77 | San Diego, CA United States | 03/29/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Kokobu is an accomplished and respected jazz pianist in the US and in Japan. She is able to gather other very talented musicians to accompany her on this album, including Alex Acuna on drums and Abe Laboriel on bass. This release is all instrumental and contains some great modern jazz to be played late night, early morning, or throughout the workday. It is sad that Kukubo's music has not gained a greater recognition in the US. She is a better composer and more soulful pianist than other leading Japanese jazz artists who tend to dominate the Smooth Jazz charts here."
