In the year 2000 Wounded Bird issued their first batch of Herbie Mann CD Re-issues. One of those was Standing Ovation At Newport, one of our most popular Herbie Mann CDs. We now finish the Newport trilogy with New Mann At Newport & Live At Newport. New Mann At Newport was recorded in 1966 at the Newport Jazz Festival. Featured musicians include Jimmy Owens (trumpet), Reggie Workman (bass) and Bruno Carr (drums). This album features outstanding versions of the Miles Davis classic All Blues and the Gershwin standard Summertime. 5 tracks. 2001 reissue.
