As classic as "Peter Gunn" was, there are still some things, such as the great "Timothy," that didn'd get recorded until the second season. "Timothy" still amazes me with its jazz breaks - especially the trumpet solos. Once you hear it you'll understand. And "Odd Ball," also on this album, is simply like nothing else Mancini ever recorded, before it or since. Like it or not, you have to buy this CD. The good news: this production contains some bonus tracks, especially the great "Experiment in Terror," soundtrack from the Glenn Ford movie of the same name." |
