Superb Haydn from Orpheus

"These two symphonies make a nice contrast, with the festive No.48 (played here with high horns rather than trumpets and timpani, a nice touch) and the very moving and serious No.49. The performances and recordings are excellent. Orpheus play wonderfully, and they always seem to find the right tempo and expression for each movement. Recommended!"
