CD Reviews

Hawkwind - 'Reading 1992' (Hawkwind)
Mike Reed | USA | 09/06/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Reason I'm giving this 2-CD import a five-star rating is because the fantastic setlist - they sure didn't ignore their early material + the sound quality is very good. Recorded on May 19, 1992 at the Reading Festival. Plenty of new {at the time} songs of their (then) current CD 'Electric Teepee' here to absorb - like the title track "Electric Teepee", the pulsating "Right To Decide", "Snake Dance" and "Secret Agent". Also great to hear - brought back to life, some early Hawkwind nuggets like "Damnation Alley", one of my personal favorites "Golden Void" and "Time We Left The World Today". Line-up was the one-time classic trio of founder Dave Brock-guitar, keyboards & vocals, Alan Davey-bass, keyboards & vocals and Richard Chadwick-drums. A must-have."
