All previously unreleased vintage material circa 1958-63! Hasil Adkins was a wild man, a rockabilly psycho who recorded his bursts of emotion and lunacy in his West Virginia shack (where he was found dead in April 2005). These two collections on CD or vinyl round up 40 of those raw, rockin? wonders, the 1958?63 cuts that made him a cult hero and sent him out on tour to meet and scare his new fans. There are 20 excellent tracks, recorded from 1956-63, two of them unissued in the states, and two previously unissued at all. His take on "The Banana Boat Song" and Blue Suede Shoes" are both great, The title track rocks big time and "Chicken Twist" sounds mysteriously like "The Chicken Walk", hmmm...... The liner notes are pretty good as well, with some rare photos.
