""Ultimate smooth guitar" is the style threaded throughout their self-titled debut album, Emerald Triangle. This new and adventurous direction in the tremendous genre of "smooth jazz" and "new age jazz" lends itself to an outing of sweeping explorations and brilliant landscapes, a theme that winds its way throughout this fresh new release. In the heart of Emerald Triangle we find the innovative and ground-breaking guitarist Harvey Mandel, known for years as a blues-rock-jazz giant who has recorded with The Rolling Stones and countless others, including a long lustrous string of solo records. Mandel has shifted his talents 180 degrees to produce this new and modern instrumental music. Behind the controls of his digital studio, Mandel seamlessly weaves each specially crafted song while featuring himself on guitars and synthezisers. With bright, new crystallized compositions and classics such as Ravel's "Bolero" and "7 Come 11" by Bennie Goodman and Charlie Christian, Emerald Triangle conjures up a mindful vision. It's enjoyable music which should appeal to a wide audience."

"Harvey Mandel plays those angular lines like no other. Emerald Triangle is one or those records that every aspiring guitarist should own and listen to every now and then. It will get you out of a rut for sure. Harvey's sense of rhythmic soloing is adventuous. It makes your sense of beat, trip up in a cool way. I thought that the bass/drums could have been a bit more "out" too. This cat has a fan. (Plus he's from Chicago!)"
