CD ReviewsThe Best of Hank Jones Dennis West | williams bay, WI USA | 04/25/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "Since it is discontinued by the manufacturer, I don't even know how I got hold of this album. I have it on my computer and listen to it while I work, as it suggested in "Snow White." In my very humble opinion, it is one of the best, or at least most enjoyable, jazz albums ever recorded. Although there is no information about it on the Web site, I believe George Duvivier accompanies Jones on bass. It is some of the finest bass playing I have ever heard. I wish these two had recorded more albums together. I especially enjoy the cuts of "I'll Be Around" and two versions of "Like Someone in Love," by, I wasn't surprised to discover, my all-time favorite composer (with the exception of W. A. Mozart), Jimmy van Heusen. This album is, truly, music made in heaven and I recommend it highly to anyone who enjoys well-played jazz. Thank goodness for MP3 now that the original is no longer available."
