Undiscovered Jewel in the rough
Alydar | New York | 10/21/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"WHAT CAN I SAY. This band had more "talent and rock n roll heart" than a thousand bands out there in the limelight. I was blown away by the harmonies, writing, feeling and kick this group had. They are timeless and can't be dismissed. I've sent the cd to radio stations and the program managers and dj's who have given it a listen AGREE - they are an unsung undiscovered unknown group that has "it" - but they are not commercial and they cannot give them airplay....but they all LOVED WHAT THEY HEARD.
Please get this "gem" .....Dito the leader has been in resergence and has written quite a nice little book about his "roots" in Astoria and NYC - " A GUIDE TO RECOGNIZING YOUR SAINTS " - and hopefully him and the boys will get back together soon. They need to get back on the roof in Queens and forget about LA. Sometimes a voyage ends up where you started out from.
For those who want to know what they sound like - take a pinch of folk rock, a dash of U2, a dab of AC/DC (especially in ...train stations ....) and a unique blend of all that matters in rock n roll and you've got GUTTERBOY. Take a chance and you will be pleasantly surprsied, no, make that blown away. I think I'll go up on my roof and play it loud into the night. Where it belongs and longs to be."
Amazing group, Phenomenal Album

"This is one of those rare, exceptional, albums where every single song is awesome. It's just such a bummer this group didn't succeed. It's like if Bruce Springsteen had come out with "Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J." and then just stopped. I really wonder what these guys would have done if they had released more albums. The harmonies are awesome, and the songs really make you sing along. I *still* listen to this album all the time."
