CD Reviews

The only way to REALLY hear Groove Collective.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"I've enjoyed the music of Groove Collective since 1994. Their fusion of Latin jazz and funk is infectious. Their studio albums explore house, hip hop and soul, but after you hear them play LIVE, you long for that level of energy that their studio CD's just fall short of.A live Groove Collective experience is an epic session of their addictive sound. When you play this double CD it's like listening to two long sets from this under appreciated ensemble, because all of the songs flow together. The only disappointment about this purchase (and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars) is the fact that they could have put all 77 minutes of music on one CD instead of splitting them and jacking up the price. I guess their making up for all of the file swapping on the web. If I knew that before I bought it, I'd still buy it!Bottom line: Perfect addition to your live jazz collection."
