BOARDWALK Café A Collection of Guitar Grooves Greg Kavanagh studied in California in the late 70s at which time the jazz scene thrived with artists such as Lee Ritenour (one of Greg s teachers), Dave Grusin, Earl Klugh and Michael Brecker. Greg fell in love with the improvisational groove jazz and realized that this was something he really wanted to do. In the intervening years between then and now Greg got on with his career - became one of the best producers in Canada and one of the most in demand session guitarists. As a result Greg discovered other music and musicians along the way. Earlier this year, finishing three CDs coming from a jazz influence and with a break in recording schedules, Greg got inspired, sat down and wrote ten tracks in a few weeks. Using his state-of-the-art studio and three of the very best musicians, Rob Gusevs, Davide Di Renzo and Russ Boswell, Greg laid down the tracks live off the floor. The result is a collection of lovely guitar-driven groove songs music for driving down the highway in summer, sitting by the lake glass of wine in hand, just chillin So...all these years later Greg Kavanagh has fulfilled his dream and Boardwalk Café is a reality - listen and enjoy!
