A vocal feast for lovers of bel canto. Nimbus has collected Donizetti's most popular arias in versions made by Golden Age singers. The earliest tracks date from 1906; the most recent, buffo bass Salvatore Baccaloni's delightful "Udite, udite, o rustici," from 1932. In between come a gallery of famous singers of yesteryear, including the likes of Luisa Tetrazzini, Giovanni Martinelli, Marcel Journet, Mattia Battistini, and Lucrezia Bori.
