His most commercially successful period ran through the '70s, although he remains one of the most influential and admired songwriters of the Rock era. Wounded Bird. Sit Down Young Stranger was originally issued on Reprise Records in 1970 and reached #12 on the Billboard charts. The album was reissued that same year under the name If You Could Read My Mind to capitalize on the top ten hit of the same name.
