I don't want Winter to end...
Jimmy*C | Stuck in Ohio | 03/05/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"After the last album from Glow ("The Years" from 2005) I thought they had gone away forever. I kept checking Amazon on the off chance they might release another album. To my amazement & excitement they have released another album, "Winter". After listening to it for a couple of days now.. I try not to be these typical 5-star gushers who go on and on about their favorite bands but... here I go.. this is such a great album!

The songs seem slightly stripped down and a little more mellow compared to the songs from previous albums but each song is carried by the lead singer Brooke Edwards (I hope I got her name right) to a place beyond words. I just CANNOT get enough of her voice. Break Apart & Be There are real stand out songs. And Glow... you're KILLING me. On the last album the song "The Years" was so beautiful & haunting... but it was so short! 2:15 seconds and it was over. I wanted so much more of that song. And now on "Winter"... the last song called "All This Time"... It ends too quick!! For me, this song is one of the most beautiful songs Glow has made. It just feels like half of a song (one verse & one chorus). I did not want this song to end. But this is not a complaint because Brooke knocked this song out of the park. I love it. I guess it's better to leave people wanting more than giving them too much!

I already see this CD is on back order so I don't know if they made a limited pressing of the album or what. But please, find a copy & support this band. I would give anything to hear more music from them in the future. Thank you Glow for the gift of this music. I don't mean to sound cheesy but a day doesn't go by without me listening to at least one of your songs. THANK YOU!"
