CD Reviews

1970's Classic Rock!

"Recorded live in a German TV studio in 1975. Their only live album with all three original members. It catches them in their prime. Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek dominate the performance. Hits like Horse With No Name, I Need You, Ventura Highway, Don't Cross The River, and Lonely People are very well done. This is the best version of Tin Man that I have ever heard. Also has very powerful renditions of Moon Song, California Revisited, and Green Monkey."
Which is which ???

"There is some confusion with this release, or at least the Amazon.com page here. The song listing is for a live recording of a 1975 German TV appearance, however, the CD cover displayed on this ad is for a 2005 live performance with Steven Bishop and Andrew Gold. Below are the reviews for each.

The 2005 concert of America, Stephen Bishop, and Andrew Gold. It includes performances of several songs that were hits in the 1970's including "Thank You for Being a Friend" and "Lonely Boy" by Gold, Bishop's "On and On" and "Save It for a Rainy Day", and America's "Ventura Highway", "I Need You", "Sister Golden Hair", and "Horse with No Name". It also includes a rare performance of the 1970's album classic "Baby It's Up to You". If you are a fan of these performers or 1970's music, you will probably enjoy this performance.

"This is not the 1975 German TV recording which features only 11 tracks.

This is not the 2005 Live version. See Customer Images and note the copyright date on the back. This is a 13 track release (Euro Disc 3325).

1. A Horse With No Name / 2. Daisy Jane / 3. Don't Cross The River / 4. I Need You / 5. Lonely People / 6. Only In Your Heart / 7. Right Before Your Eyes / 8. Sandman / 9. Sister Golden Hair / 10. The Border / 11. Tin Man / 12. Ventura Highway / 13. You Can Do Magic
