Painfully Brilliant

"Gillian once again pulls at your heart strings, for an all to close to home album. Her songwriting is very personal, yet universal, and the guitar work by David Rawlings is just stunning. Her voice can be warm, heartfelt, and comforting on some songs, and sad and distant on others, with harmonies from Mr. Rawlings that are just spot on. Like a comment previously posted on this page, you can really feel yourself exhale, almost a sigh of relief, at the end of most songs. This is just one of four incredible albums in her catalog. This is truly one of my favorite voices, songwriters, and albums. You won't be dissapointed."

"I have two other CD's from this artist. My Dad & I really liked this one. We both recommend it. The music is well done & well recorded. Very smooth low key songs with good lyrics. We really liked Miss Ohio & One Monkey.
