CD Reviews

Gold star collection

"Having first heard Moustaki in the late 60's and early 70's, I can't begin to tell you how please i was to have all my favourite songs all on CD (replacing my long lost LP's). Moustaki's music is as enjoyable to listen to and sing along with as it was when I was growing up! The best of the best!"

"Anyone looking for the best of Moustaki should look no further than this album. The sensuousness of his songs is unbelievable, something I have not heard in the work of any other singer, dead or alive. It helps to know some French, however, as this double-CD set comes with the written words to only a few of the songs...David Dansky"
An excellent collection of music

"45 songs in all, this 2 cd collection is almost all that one would need in one's Moustaki collection (except that it's hard to get enough of the fellow's songs). It draws heavily from Moustaki's Le Meteque album (which is quite understandable), but thereafter draws a few each from several albums ranging from the early seventies and into the eighties. Not one of the songs doesn't belong in this collection. But there are other Moustaki songs that deserve to be on the collection, and aren't. If you could only own two cd's worth of Moustaki, I think this would be the way to go. That or I'd purchase 'Le Meteque' and 'Bobino 70'. But the collection has far more songs."
