CD ReviewsGeorge Lewis - Ice Cream Trygve Hernęs | 04/13/2009 (4 out of 5 stars) "This item and it's companion "Hello Central, give me Dr. Jazz" are superb examples og the George Lewis band of 1953 while working down the West Coast of US. They only get 4 star ratings, because for one reason or the other George's clarinet is slightly out of tune on the whole session. The absolute perfect George Lewis session is the one recorded in Hollywood on October 26, 1953, now available on Good Time Jazz as "Doctor Jazz". the Ultimate George Lewis record from the "California period".
