CD Reviews

They're NOT Hits - But They ARE Great!
Joe Taylor | 09/23/1998
(4 out of 5 stars)

"The only real hit single on this CD is TWO STORY HOUSE. WE'RE JUST A PAIR OF OLD SNEAKERS, the follow-up release, failed to top the charts. And the rest of the material is mostly album cuts from George and Tammy's numerous EPIC albums. Unlike their Greatest Hits Vol. One (which was filled with chart topping singles), Vol. Two offers fewer hits but at the same time some fantastic performances from one of country music's best loved duos."
What's Not to Like?
Mcgivern Owen L | NY, NY USA | 11/12/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"What's Not to Like? Nothing! It's still the President and First Lady, though this time it's at the twilight of their musical times together. The CD contains the final 2 of their duet chart hits (according to Billboard): "Two Story House" and "A Pair of Old Sneakers". There is also a good rendition of Tammy's earlier duet with David Houston; "My Elusive Dreams". That had been her first #1 song. Other notable tracks are the often recorded "Just Someone I Used to Know", a playful "Did You Ever?" and a true Tammy and George song- "A Lovely Place to Cry". (What Good is That Mansion Without a Little Love?) Fans of the President and First Lady won't go wrong with volume 2. What a special chemistry they had! Those unfamiliar with this pair are urged to try at least one of their albums, though "GH" volume 1 may be a slightly safer choice."
