CD ReviewsEpic Oratorio Terry J. Lehane | 10/19/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "Beautiful cantabile singing throughout. The music flows and the voices follow so that it almost seems nonprogrammatic. Yet it is the story of Alexander the Great and the Indian Kalanus who is sojourning in Persia. As a whole I am not fond of vocal pieces. But I could not do without this and Gade's other great vocal work "Elverskud". You will be pleased with this CD. If you aren't familiar with Gade, let me suggest that you give his symphonies a try. They are always a delight."
