this is an audio version of the Four Tops' show at the MGM Grand on August 8, 1996, marking the group's 40th anniversary. Just Ten months later June 20, 1997 Lawrence Payton died and thus the first personnel change in the Four Tops' history".

this CD is awesome as good as it gets Levi Stubbs @ age 60 in very fine voice with originals Renaldo Benson & Abdul Fakir & Lawrence Payton in very tight & fine harmonies Just Listen to "ask the lonely" & their really great rockin energy in shake me wake me, when she was my girl, standing in the shadows, great orchestra too. stop listening to people who don't know what their talking about reviewing this CD speaking about the quality of the recording & about the members of the group too. these are the original Four Tops in concert lawrence payton died June 20th, 1997. Renaldo Benson died in 2005 & Levi Stubbs died in 2008 but after cancer & a stroke Levi stop touring in 2000.
on my iTUNES & my IPOD I CHANGED THE title to Four Tops live aug 8, 1996 artwork I use DVD box of the 40th anniversary compares favorably to Four tops live 1964 I have both.

"I recently bought this record, but nowhere in the Amazon website advertising, was there a warning that this record was a live presentation and I feel I have been swindled by Amazon. The record is lousy and the voices do not appear to be the original cast members of The Four Tops. Therefore, a warning to you all. Do not get swindled by Amazon, thinking that you are buying a record with The Four Tops original hits. And from now on, I'll be very carefurl when buying another record from the Amazon website."
